Turkey: Discovering Ancient Footsteps of Faith

January 9-24, 2015

History comes alive in the modern land of Turkey! This two-week study tour will provide geographical, historical, and cultural contexts for biblical, historical, and theological texts that shape our ministry in the world today. Archaeological sites in Turkey (ancient Asia Minor or Anatolia) provide opportunities to study Paulís letters (e.g., Ephesus, Pergamum, Antioch) and early church theological formulations (e.g., Nicea, Cappadocia, Hagia Sophia). Modern sites (e.g., Istanbul, Ankara) provide insight into a secular nation with a majority Islamic population.

 Cost: $3,525 per person

Cost covers round-trip airfare from Washington Dulles airport, double-occupancy hotel rooms with private bath, all transportation in Turkey, all meals except two dinners in Istanbul, all entrance fees, all tips and gratuities for hotel staff and driver, and an experienced English-speaking guide.  Not included: beverages, two dinners in Istanbul, personal needs, and travel insurance.
