Our Ambassador Hotel is just off the north edge of this map on Nablus Road. StGeorge Bazaar opposite cathedral: great selection; check out Roman glass necklaces; greet Ibrahim from Lundbloms Palestinian Pottery Workshop: across from American Embassy; watch workers paint; large selection Bazaar: Christian Quarter Rd just up from Ali Babas: beautiful Damascus fabrics by the yard; lots of runners, tablecloths, etc. Ali Babas - #11 on Christian Quarter Rd: Ask for Shaban (and greet from Lundbloms at Albright Institute): nice olivewood candleholders, tablecloths, cloths, and Dead Sea products: NO bargaining but best prices! E.K. on Christian Quarter Rd: up the stone steps from the Holy Sepulcher and to the right; outside shelves and more inside; look for "seven fruits" objects Armenian Patriarchate Rd - 2 shops just before and after tunnel; expensive but great colors StPeter in Ballicantu: shop at the church compound; very good selection of olivewood ornaments; also mustard seed cards, etc.
