- Don't have Bible software? Check out the free, downloadable programs
listed here
- When working with a biblical text and you want easy access to parsing,
try:
- zhubert.com
(aka, Re: Greek) - Includes Greek text with mouseover analysis and
translation; NET Bible with notes; Text Criticism tools with links
to Sinaiticus; very helpful book study tools
- Check out
GreekBibleStudy.org. The base Greek NT is Tischendorf's which is
okay. I think it is a fascinating experiment in terms of its
color-coding, its 'graduated' display linked to Mounce, its
"Translate" page which would probably be quite helpful to beginners
working on translating, its ability to link notes to one's
translation, the easy way to print to PDF pages, and the capability
to "Share" and form private or public study groups.
- The
Online Greek Bible - Use Athena or Palatino if possible;
clicking on word pops up analysis and gloss
- Need a lexicon for Greek (or Hebrew/Aramaic, Latin, Syriac, Coptic or
Akkadian!)? Start at
2LetterLookup
- For online research, also try The
Unbound Bible (Use Greek:NT Westcott/Hort, UBS4 variants as your
Greek version) You can also use their:

- BTW, one written resource you could use for the second part of the

- I have my new BibleWorks or Logos! Now what? Go
HERE and work through the setup steps I suggest.
- Review for Midterm Exam
- Practice Midterm Exam
- Midterm Practice
Exam
- This includes and IS the first part of the exam. It will be closed book
for this part. Part B will consist of translation and analysis, and you can
use any written resources such as the book, handouts, or notes.
- Want the answers? You'll have to look for them. Now do YOU SEE? (you
should now!)
Tuesday, October 9
- Vocabulary Quiz on Vocabulary50+list
(PDF) - Quiz will be 50 words. You simply need to give a one word
definition (but if there is a question, indicate whether it is a verb or
noun or...). You need 70% to pass, otherwise you will have a chance to
retake the quiz. UPDATE: A number of you have asked: You are responsible for
all the words on the list, not just the ones that have appeared in Croy so
far.
- Download the free VocabWorks program
here
- Get the BibleWorks fonts
if you don't have the BibleWorks program (Free to download; for Win and Mac)
- Then download this 50+ Vocab.vcb
list compiled by PeterH to use in VocabWorks. Thanks, Peter!
- While you are at it, Ben Buchanan has created a customized vocabulary dataset for your Croy
textbook. Words are organized according to chapter in Croy. Download this
file: Greek (Croy) - BWGRKL.vcb
(right click, save target as, put the file in the same directory as your
VocabWorks program)
