New Testament Greek Software Resources

Bible Software Programs compared in table format

Bible Programs for Windows

Logos (which established and uses the Libronix system) is primarily a library system that has text search capabilities. It is able to connect biblical text with the text of many very useful and important books: lexicons, commentaries, textbooks, reference works, etc. (It does also include lots of books that you will probably never [want to] use.) Logos does require more computing power to work fast. What this program can do, for example,  is provide an English meaning for the Greek word you are looking at and then find all the instances of that word or verse in any other book you have purchased including things like textbooks, complete Lutheran library, etc. - Check out their Comparison Chart - (As with BibleWorks, also consider BDAG and Wallace)

For my full assessment of these two programs, see: LTSG Bible Software Recommendations

Greek New Testament Texts and Study Tools

The Greek New Testament Gateway - start here. Among the sites listed, I recommend:

NA26 refers to the Nestle-Aland 26th edition of the Greek NT. A standard version though now superceded by the substantially similar 27th edition. Westcott and Hort's edition is probably not the best Greek version, but the differences are not substantial.

Macintosh or Linux?

The programs listed above may run properly under Windows emulators. Check the sites for more info. Gramcord does offer: Accordance for Bible Study. Logos is also advertising a Logos for Mac to be released late summer of 2006.
