7 September
14 September
- Choose persona: Using the Social
Status Points sheet, choose a persona whose perspective you will adopt
as you read through Acts. You may either choose an element from each column
on the grid or take one of the "Minor Characters in Acts" listed
at the bottom of the page. There should not be duplications of choice, so
post your choice in the Discussion Board. First ones to make their choice
get it!
- Choose theme: The book of
Acts provides a remarkable insight into the nature of the early church.
Arising from questions posed on the ACTS
Topics sheet, students will choose a theme to study throughout the
semester that applies both to the early church and the church today. For
more info and to post choices, check the Discussion Board online.
- READ: Acts
1-2; JtA 1-50
21 September
28 September
- READ: Acts 6.1-9.31; JtA 72-111
- Remember
to read from the perspective of your adopted persona
- Remember
to read with your chosen theme in mind
- Consider
journaling as you read or keeping notes in your Bible software
- Focus: Acts 7 - Israel,
Temple, Church
- Note: To follow the
geography in Acts, try using the
Bible
Geocoding Maps that can be downloaded, unzipped, and installed into your
\databases\ subfolder of BibleWorks. (More info
here.) You can
also work on the web (or in Google Earth) using the
OpenBible.info site.
